T20 World Cup | Scotland drawn with Bangladesh, Namibia & Netherlands in First Round

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

Scotland have been drawn in Group B with Bangladesh, Namibia and Netherlands for the first round of next year's T20 World Cup in Australia.

Following their narrow passage through in the World Cup Qualifier in UAE last week Kyle Coetzer's men will face a Bangladesh side who yesterday recorded their first ever T20 victory over India.

In Group B Ireland will play Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea and Oman.

The top two sides in both groups will progress through to the next round.

The competition is set to include sixteen teams overall with eight of those fighting out in a preliminary stage with the hope of securing passage to the Super 12s where the seeded teams lie in wait.

England, Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa and Afghanistan all automatically qualified last December for the Super 12s as the top eight ranked ICC Full Members along with hosts Australia.
